About the artist

Carlo D’Anselmi is a multidisciplinary artist based in New York. His work explores the layered psychology of everyday spaces through a vivid and gestural visual language. Drawing from memory, found imagery, and the rhythms of urban life, D’Anselmi creates paintings and drawings that move fluidly between figuration and abstraction. His compositions often reference familiar scenes such as interiors, sidewalks, or elements of public architecture, but these recognizable forms are reimagined through intuitive mark-making, dissonant color, and deliberate distortion.

Originally from New York City, Carlo studied at the New York Studio School. He has exhibited both nationally and internationally, with solo and group shows in cities including New York, Los Angeles, and London. His practice engages with the legacy of American expressionism while exploring contemporary questions of perception, intimacy, and place.
