Maya Stefania Wibling is a Danish artist born in 1977 who lives and works near Aarhus, Denmark. Wiblings recent work has been focusing on empowering the female figure and emphasizes the female connection to history, mythology and nature. The females of Wibling’s work are looking back at you insisting to be subjects with their own agenda. Some are depicted with an attribute serving as a symbol to expand the portrait into a larger narrative. Wibling holds a BA degree in classical archaeology and graduated from Aarhus Art academy in 2013.
