Jamie Fitzpatrick (b. 1985, Southport, UK) is a British artist based in London. He studied Fine Art, Philosophy and Contemporary Practice at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee, before completing an MA in Sculpture at the Royal College of Art. His practice spans sculpture, 3D modelling, drawing and film, driven by a sustained critique of power, hierarchy and historical monumentality. By appropriating and subverting the visual language of public statuary and transforming busts, plinths and heroic forms with wax, foam and bricolage, Fitzpatrick exposes the theatrical absurdities of authority and class structures, inviting viewers to reconsider how cultural symbols of dominance persist and seduce. Through visceral engagement and layered materiality, his work destabilises conventions of beauty and permanence, prompting a provocative reflection on socio political narratives and collective memory.
