David Matthew King received a BA and MA in English Literature from the City University of New York. His two decades of experience as an educator, writer, musician, and performer inform his diverse body of visual works which often include original text, a bright color palette, and animals with human characteristics. He is an avid fan of subversion and irreverence and maintains that the real subjects of his works are hidden just around the corner from what the visual image suggests.
King has had solo gallery shows in New York, London, and Paris. He currently lives and works in Los Angeles.
